Terms & Conditions

Union Laundry · Last updated October 12, 2026

These terms explain use of our website and self-service, wash-and-fold, and commercial laundry services at 1331 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, New Jersey 07083. Please read the prices, order ticket, accepted care instructions, and any specific written terms disclosed before you authorize service. A specific agreement accepted for an order controls that order if it conflicts with these general terms. Nothing here removes rights or remedies protected by law.

1. Ordering, availability, and turnaround

A website inquiry does not by itself confirm an order, a price, or a completion time. An attendant or the applicable order confirmation must confirm your service. You must be authorized to submit the items and provide accurate contact and order information. A parent or guardian should arrange service for a minor where needed.

Most wash-and-fold orders are ready within 24 hours. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Same-day service, wash-and-dry without folding, special handling, and commercial turnaround must be confirmed with an attendant. Workload, equipment issues, weather, or other disruptions may affect timing. We will communicate material delays when reasonably possible. Collection is during posted business hours: daily, 6:30 a.m.–10 p.m.; last self-service wash is at 9 p.m. Holiday or temporary changes may be posted separately.

Pickup and delivery is coming soon. It is not currently offered as an available service on this website. Any future service will have its area, schedule, charges, collection instructions, and applicable terms disclosed before booking.

2. Prices, payments, and laundry cards

Review the current price before using a machine or authorizing a service. Ask about the pricing method, minimum charge, applicable tax, extra loads, special handling, bulky items, or rush service. Additional charges require disclosure before authorization. A price change does not retroactively change an accepted order without your agreement. Keep your order ticket or receipt and report a billing concern promptly.

Cash and card are accepted as posted. Laundry-card balances, referral rewards, and promotions follow the written conditions disclosed when purchased or issued. Any lawful expiration, fee, redemption restriction, or refund condition must be disclosed where required. Promotional credits and purchased balances may have different terms. Mandatory gift-card, stored-value, and consumer protections continue to apply.

3. Changes, cancellations, and refunds

Contact the store promptly to request a change or cancellation. Once processing begins, we may be unable to stop it or reverse a care instruction. We will explain what work has been performed and any previously disclosed charges before resolving the request. These terms do not create an undisclosed cancellation fee or an automatic “no refunds” rule.

If a machine fails or a service is incomplete or disputed, notify an attendant with your receipt or transaction details. We will review the facts and discuss an appropriate correction, reprocessing, credit, refund, or other remedy. No remedy described here limits a remedy required by law. Commercial account cancellation and payment arrangements must be set out in the applicable written agreement.

4. Preparing laundry and requesting special care

Empty pockets and remove money, jewelry, keys, medication, documents, electronics, sharp objects, and other valuables. Identify items that must be separated, stains, damaged seams, loose trim, fragile fabrics, unstable dyes, and care-label restrictions. Tell the attendant about fragrance-free detergent requests or other special handling before processing. We must accept special instructions before they become part of the order; separate loads or handling may carry a disclosed charge.

Do not submit dry-clean-only, leather, suede, delicate, unusually valuable, or sentimental items for ordinary wash-and-fold without first discussing suitability. We do not promise an allergen-free environment or complete removal of detergent residue. A fragrance-free request is not a medical or allergen-safety guarantee. Discuss any concern before leaving your items.

We use reasonable care and follow accepted instructions, but cannot guarantee removal of every stain or odor. Wear, weakened fibers, hidden defects, prior cleaning, incorrect care labels, dye transfer, shrinkage, or delicate decorations may affect results. These possible risks do not excuse a failure to use reasonable care.

5. Items we cannot safely process

Do not place flammable liquids, solvents, fuels, oils that present a fire risk, hazardous chemicals, needles, pest-infested items, or infectious or biohazardous materials in machines or drop-off orders. Ask an attendant before bringing potentially contaminated items. We may refuse or stop processing an item unsuitable for our equipment or services and contact you where reasonably possible. We do not routinely inspect every pocket or every item.

6. Collection, authorization, and unclaimed orders

Bring your order ticket or reasonable proof of ownership when collecting laundry. Tell us in advance if someone else will collect it; we may ask for reasonable verification. Check your order upon collection and notify us about any concern. Contact us if you cannot collect it as arranged.

A storage charge, collection deadline, or unclaimed-item procedure must be disclosed before it applies. We will not deem property abandoned or donate, sell, or discard it except through a lawful process with any required notice. These general terms do not establish an automatic forfeiture deadline.

7. Missing items, damage, and service concerns

Tell us as soon as reasonably possible if an item is missing, damaged, mixed with another order, or not processed as agreed. Provide your order details, a description of the item, and available photos, proof of value, or other supporting information. Keep the affected item for inspection and avoid further cleaning, repair, or disposal until we have a reasonable opportunity to review it, unless needed to prevent further harm.

We investigate concerns in good faith and consider the service performed, the item’s condition and value, and the available evidence. Prompt notice helps us investigate; it is not an artificial deadline that automatically cancels a legal claim. These terms impose no fixed reimbursement cap, mandatory store-credit-only remedy, or blanket waiver for loss or damage.

8. Self-service safety and conduct

Follow posted machine instructions, load limits, care labels, and safety notices. Check drums before loading. Do not force doors, climb on equipment, overload machines, or leave children unsupervised. Keep aisles clear and personal belongings secure. Stop using equipment that appears unsafe and notify staff about a malfunction, spill, or hazard. Do not interfere with another customer’s laundry.

We may address unsafe, abusive, unlawful, or disruptive conduct and refuse or discontinue service when reasonably necessary for safety or lawful operations. This does not permit unlawful discrimination. Responsibility for damage to equipment or property depends on the facts and applicable law. We do not disclaim our own legal duties concerning the premises, equipment, or customer property.

9. Promotions, reviews, and customer content

Offers apply according to their disclosed dates, eligibility, limits, availability, and redemption instructions. Ask staff for the current written offer before relying on a promotion. We will not substitute new restrictions for an offer already accepted where the law prohibits it. Separate rules will apply to any contest or sweepstakes; a general website statement does not establish a prize promotion.

You may share honest reviews. Nothing in these terms prohibits lawful criticism or a consumer complaint. We may moderate spam, threats, unlawful content, or private information on pages we administer. You retain rights in your content. Permission to respond to a message does not automatically grant us permission to use your name, image, or testimonial in advertising.

10. Website use and third-party services

Use the website lawfully. Do not introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, submit information you are not authorized to share, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with site operations. Our branding and website materials belong to their respective owners and may not be misrepresented as your own. Ordinary personal use of the website does not transfer ownership.

We aim to keep information accurate and may correct errors. We will communicate a material error affecting a requested transaction before asking you to proceed. Website outages and third-party links may affect availability. External payment tools, maps, social platforms, and other services have their own terms and privacy practices. Our Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information.

11. Responsibility and your legal rights

Union Laundry remains responsible to the extent required by applicable law. These terms do not exclude liability for negligence where an exclusion is prohibited, gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, personal injury, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. They do not waive New Jersey consumer protections, statutory warranties, lawful refunds, or other mandatory remedies. Responsibility for a particular loss will be determined by the facts and applicable law.

These terms do not require arbitration, waive a jury trial, bar a class action, or prevent you from contacting a regulator or bringing a claim in a court with lawful jurisdiction. Contacting us first may help resolve an issue, but is not a condition on exercising your legal rights.

12. Governing law and future updates

New Jersey law governs, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent consistent with applicable law. Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive lawful enforcement later.

We may update these terms for future services and will identify the revision date. Material changes will be made available before they apply to a new order. A later website revision does not retroactively replace terms accepted for an existing transaction without a lawful basis and any required agreement.
